CM to launch ‘Kanimozhi’

There were raised eyebrows when producers T Siva of Amma Creations and Sona started their new project titled ‘Kanimozhi’, as it is the name Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s daughter.

On Monday, Sona made another surprise announcement that the Chief Minister himself would launch the music of the film, scored by Satheesh Chakravarthy, at a grand function in Chennai on July 22.

“We are grateful to the Chief Minister for accepting our invitation. He will launch the audio and the first copy will be received by Vijay at Kalaignar Arangam in Anna Arivalayam,” the actress-producer informed reporters.

Starring Jai and Bollywood actress Shazhan Padamsee in lead roles, the movie is directed by newcomer Sripathy Rangasamy, a former associate of Venkat Prabhu. “Plans are on to release the film on August 6,” Sona added.
