It was hattrick victory for Rama Narayanan as he was elected as the president of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council for third time in Chennai on Sunday. Rama Narayanan won by 281 votes, while his opponent K Rajagopal (KRG) received 140 votes.

Music director SS Kumaran proved his mettle with his very first film Poo. However, the musician took sometime in choosing his next ventures. He is back now by scoring the music for Kalavani. When Kumaran was questioned as to why he prefers village-based subjects, he replied that it was not out of choice but happened by chance.

It seems Mani Ratnam has zeroed in on a title for his next venture. If reports are to be believed, the ace filmmaker, who is getting ready to launch Karthik’s son Gautham in the movie, has named it ‘Pookkadai’.
